Sunday your choice of local sightseeing, a whale-watching excursion, hiking or kayaking. Cycle through the surfing beaches and ancient rainforests of Pacific Rim National Park. The inns of Tofino are outstanding, and campsites are among towering trees and overlook the Pacific beach.
Monday and Tuesday we're on winding mountain roads through forest with trees as much as 700 years old. Expect wildlife sightings and spectatcular mountain views. Monday night we reach Port Alberni, and Tuesday we cycle through the towering old growth forest of Cathedral Grove to Nanimo.
Wednesday's ride includes the murals at Chemainus and the totems at Duncan, before we climb to the heights of malahat, and either the five-star Aerie Resort,( rated by many as the best inn in Canada) or the towering forests of the Goldstream campground.
Thursday we come down from the Malahat mountain and along the Galloping Goose Trail to Sooke, on the shores of Juan de Fuca Strait . Hike a stretch of the Juan De Fuca Trail.
Friday return on the galloping Goose Trail to Victoria and explore the picturesque inner harbour area, with it's Empress Hotel and Parliament Buildings before visiting the famous Butchart Gardens.
